We don't have gdb installed so I am going to have to do that first before I can get you more information. I should have some time to do in the next couple of days. I have a FreeBSD server that I will also attempt to see if I can recreate the dump on. Its running Xeon CPU's.

I did also test on a couple more systems FreeBSD7 and CentOS4 and was unable to reproduce on those systems. I rebuilt sphinx with debug and surprisingly the error was not reproducible.
